Hello everyone,

In case you are a Canadian Citizen and you’re planning to travel outside the country, please consider going on the website of the Canadian High Commission of the country you are travelling to, and register your itinerary there, along with your personal details like address you will be staying at and phone contact. In case of any emergency like natural disasters (floods, etc) or any other unforeseen trouble, political upheaval (example Cairo) or terrorist attack (Mumbai 2008), the Canadian high Commission of that country knows your whereabouts and itinerary. They will look for you and get you assistance.
I am writing from personal experience. We registered our details with the High Commission in Delhi. My husband and I were in Mumbai in 2008, and left Mumbai just days before the terrorist attacks. Our relatives got a phone call from the Canadian High Commission, asking for us by name, checking to see if the 2 Canadian citizens staying there are safe or if they need any kind of assistance.
The websites of all Canadian High Commissions are easily available online, if you search. Take the small trouble of registering yourself, and it may save you a whole lot of headache while travelling.
Thanks
Hello all
If the MSBC were to arrange a screening of good quality new Marathi Films in the lower mainland, would there be a good response from the community?
In short, would you a s a member (or non-member, why not) be interested in watching Marathi films now and then?
I am just trying to see what kind of response I get on this topic, so that we can have an idea of the kind of cultural events that people would enjoy.
Thanks!
It may take a while for others to catch on but this is a great idea.
